This introductory seminar will cover the legal implications of workplace discrimination, with particular emphasis on the 2009 passage of the Fair Pay Act. The first half of the session will be spent discussing employment law related to discrimination. The Fair Pay Act provisions will be described in detail. “Real life” court decisions will be discussed so that participants can better understand the aspects that influence employer liability. The second half of the session will consist of a case study that will take participants through the discrimination claim process. Participants will be provided with a realistic set of circumstances and a discussion will be held that leads the group through the various factors associated with whether or not a company achieves a successful outcome in defense to the claim.
The seminar’s ultimate objective is that this information will effectively prepare participants to prevent and/or handle potential discrimination issues at the workplace. The seminar is being conducted by Michael Lenzner, managing partner of The Lenzner Solution. Prior to forming The Lenzner Solution, Michael enjoyed a very successful 20-year career in Human Resources management. His former employers include IBM, Toshiba, Eaton Corporation, and Schweizer Aircraft. In his current role, he specializes in providing companies with proven, effective solutions for management problems.
