Image of Elmira CenterCommunity & Continuing Education courses are dedicated to meeting the immediate training needs of our three-county service region. We offer a wide range of credit and non-credit courses and are a community resource providing educational solutions in enjoyable and comfortable environments.

Corning Community College’s newest location is the Academic and Workforce Development Center in Elmira, located in the former Lagonegro Building at 318 Madison Avenue. 

The Center offers day courses including:

  • Basic skills class in math, writing, reading, and learning skills
  • Business and computer applications
  • Residential Counselor Assistant Certificate
  • Coursework towards any of CCC's 40 degree programs

Evening offerings focus on five new More After 4:00 Programs including:

  • Business Administration (with a concentration in Banking)
  • Chemical Dependency Counseling
  • Human Services
  • Manufacturing Leadership (lecture only)
  • Manufacturing Technology (lecture only)

Spring 2008 Elmira Center Courses

The Center will also offer several new short term non-credit workforce training programs assisting you to develop skills for high demand employment opportunities. These programs include:

  • Office Technology
  • ServSafe food handling
  • National Retail Federation Customer Service Training
  • Manufacturing Technician (lecture only)
  • Customer Service in Manufacturing 

Professional certification courses will be offered in Real Estate; Life, Accident and Health; Child Abuse Recognition; Continuing Education for Insurance; Human Resources Boot Camp; and a Leadership Series for business and industry. 

In addition to convenient courses, the Center will offer student services to include a math and writing learning center, learning commons, computer labs, career counseling, and job referral services.  Friendly and helpful staff will be available to make your learning experience successful.
