Cool Kids programs are free, open to the public and for kids of all ages.

The CCC Cool Kids series features four fun-filled educational programs for kids of ALL ages. Balloons, critters, music, wildlife and our third annual ECOfest will captivate the young...and the not so young.  Mark your calendar now to skip cartoons and come be COOL!  Each program is held on the CCC Spencer Hill Campus in Corning, NY.

The first program on Saturday, October 2, 2010, 10 – 11 a.m., will feature a Balloon Twisting Funshop. Everyone loves getting one of those “animal balloons” or huge, crazy headpieces at festivals.  In true Cool Kids style, we will teach you how to make them! Russ the Big Guy, from Improv Dads Comedy Troup, with his kid-crazy music, and 1,000 balloons brings us eye-poppin’ fun.

Critter Olympics will be featured on Saturday, November 6, 2010, 10 – 11 a.m. This is a Cool Kids FIRST! This is not a circus. It’s nonstop fun with some of wildlife’s biggest characters. From Gerbil Races, to Feathered Fetch, to Pop Goes the Weasel with those silly ferrets. Besides some very animal-friendly recreation with our critter friends, we learn about habitats, habits, and how to live alongside our friends from the jungle, forest, and fields. No harmful treatment or cruelty to ANY of our critters occurs, or is condoned, ever!

On Saturday, March 26, 2011, 10 – 11 a.m., the Dinner Dogs take the stage with kid cool music. Take one huge dose of hip music, throw in a dash of funky chef costumes, two top-notch, award-winning musicians, and what’s on today’s dinner stage?  The Dinner Dogs!  Get ready to dance, sing, and laugh. Plus – learn about manners, the Golden Rules, and much more.  You will love them. This is one of our favorite singing groups and crowd-pleasing kid magnets.

CCC’s third annual ECOfest and E-Scrap Drive will include two performances by Andrew Simmons and his rare wildlife friends. This event is scheduled for Saturday, April 30, 2011, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Simmons will have some of the rarest critters we’ve had on a Cool Kids stage. Experience this presentation up close and personal as this wildly fun showman showcases an event that whips up excitement. Audience participation and education with his featured guests: Eurasian eagle owls, golden eagles, Burmese pythons, Nile monitors and possibly a leopard or black bear cub and MUCH MORE.  Andrew’s showtimes are noon and 2 p.m.

The ECOfest and E-Scrap Drive is sure to be the coolest festival of green ever! Fun, vendors, activities, eco-games, displays, and prizes. Mark your calendar NOW for this program but watch for details as we fine-tune it over the next couple months.  In the mean time, save your old electronic items for our e(electronic)-scrap drive.   Don’t throw them in the garbage – bring them to us to be recycled and properly scrapped.
