The Principal at each high school will appoint a guidance counselor to be the ACE Coordinator at that school. This individual performs the following duties:
- Serves as the main contact between the HS and the CCC Academic Outreach Office
- Provides CCC with the ACE Course Offering Form for the next academic year by the designated deadline
- Provides the class lists for ACE courses by the established deadline even if the information is tentative
- Ensures that enrolled students meet enrollment / prerequisite criteria
- Communicates to other onsite HS counselors all enrollment / prerequisite criteria
- Tracks students’ Regents final exam scores in English for a score of 85 or higher
- Assists in scheduling an assessment test for students scoring below 85 before they take any course that has an English, reading, or writing prerequisite
- Disseminates and collects the “Student Reaction to Instructor Survey” and returns them to the Academic Outreach Office by the designated deadline
- Ensures that faculty enter final grades are entered for each course
- Communicates to the Academic Outreach Office any issues that arise
