Application Process

  • High School Instructors who wish to apply to teach a CCC ACE course must meet the Course Credentials for that course listed in the Handbook
  • Complete the Instructor Application and attach all transcripts
  • Send all materials to the Office of Academic Outreach, 1 Academic Drive, Corning, NY 14830, Attn: Debbie Sanford
  • The application is then sent to the Academic Deans for approval
  • Some instructors receive a Provisional approval and may apply for the ACE Grant to help fund necessary classes they must complete to receive their Permanent Approval

Role of the ACE Instructor

ACE Instructors perform the following functions:

  • Submit an electronic copy of the course syllabus and final exam to the Ace Liaison by the established deadline
  • Maintain college-level standards in all assigned classes
  • Verify that class list(s) are accurate and complete as soon as course begins by checking “MyCCC” on the College’s website and notifying the Office of Academic Outreach of any changes
  • Work with ACE High School Coordinator to ensure that the “Student Reaction to Instructor Survey” is administered and completed
  • Reminds students to notify the Office of Academic Outreach if they decide to drop  a course and includes this information in the course syllabus
  • Sends final, signed enrollment verification list to the Office of Academic Outreach by the due date
  • Submit final grades by the posted deadline at the end of each course via “MyCCC”
  • Becomes familiar with and enforces all ACE policies and procedures
  • ACE Instructors are required to provide a copy of their final exams along with a syllabus for each class taught at the beginning of every semester
  • If a departmental final is used in the academic division at the College, the ACE instructor is required to give this same examination at the high school

Verification Forms

  • Instructors MUST log into MyCCC and print their class rosters and have them verified by October 1, 2012. It is encouraged to log into MyCCC and look at your rosters before the due date of the verification lists
  • This Verification ensures that students wishing to add and/or drop the course are processed by CCC
  • The Academic Outreach office will e-mail instructions and a reminder of when these verifications are due

  • An online service for Students, Faculty and Staff. Instructors log into MyCCC using their CCC ID (C#)
