Career Pathways (formerly Tech Prep) is federally funded through the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006 (Perkins IV).  The purpose is to help high school students receive the training and skills they need to be successful in college and/or careers.  Career Pathways works with school districts, local business and industry, and Corning Community College in order to provide students with the knowledge and skills they need for college and/or a career. 

What is Career Pathways?

  • Sequence of courses that starts in 9th grade and leads to either 1) an Associate Degree, and/or 2) an industry-recognized certificate or licensure, and/or 3) a Baccalaureate Degree and beyond
  • Developed, implemented, and maintained among secondary and postsecondary education, businesses, and employers.
  • Dual Enrollment (enrolled at CCC and your high school in order to receive college credit) through the Career Pathways program.
  • Eases the transition between high school and/or college or the workforce
