Corning Community College offers art courses as traditional as Drawing, Painting, Ceramics, and Art History and as technologically innovative as Digital Art, Graphic Design, and Web Design. Courses in East Asian Art, American Art, Photography, Television, and Film complement these offerings. The college has several large studios, including a ceramics studio, a television studio, a wood-fired anagama kiln and a unique wood-fired kiln capable of firing ceramics and working hot glass, along with computer labs and instructional areas, staffed by a dedicated and highly qualified faculty.
Corning Community College has packaged this wide array of art offerings into the Fine Arts and Design A.S. program that provides a clearly defined course of study in the fields of fine art and commercial art. The Fine Arts and Design program has been constructed with special attention to students planning to transfer to four-year colleges, including emphasis on a solid academic foundation in the liberal arts and sciences.
