What will students do in the program?
  • Be able to set up and operate a vast variety of machine tools from basic lathes to advanced computer numerically controlled machining centers.
  • Demonstrate project management skills and good oral communications.

  • Gain a thorough understanding of metals such as steel, cast iron, aluminum and the impact heat treating has on their properties.

  • Design and build jigs, fixtures, and be able to generate CNC programs through computer assisted manufacturing software (CAM).

  • Be able to analyze processes, estimate costs, schedules, and productivity.

  • Machinist

Salary Range:  $35,000 - $45,000+

Transferability:

Yes, A student may transfer to a four year school to obtain a B.S. in Technology or related education.
