January A grant of $25,000 was given to CCC by the Corning Glass Works Foundation for preliminary architectural plans and site engineering studies.
March 9 Arthur A. Houghton, Jr., president of Steuben Glass and a director of Corning Works, donated his former home on East Third Street to the Corning Glass Works Foundation which then made it available for College use for up to five years on a rent-free basis.
May 21 First college catalog issued.
September 2 The CCC Faculty Assembly was formed to take over the regulation and governance of itself and the determination of policies that would affect the operation of the College.
October 5 The Board of Trustees voted on the Spencer Hill site for the permanent campus.
