May 25 Faculty Association Clambake at Keuka Yacht Club.
June 9 459 graduate. Professor Herbert Gross was the speaker.
September 16 Professor Henry Steele Commager, historian, spoke to 1,400 attendees on campus.
September 27 Arthur J. Goldberg, Supreme Court Justice, spoke to 2,000 attendees.
October 3 Nursing building construction started.
October 25 Memorial plaque dedicated to United States Marine Corps Lance Corporal Edward J. Brewer. He was the first CCC graduate to be killed in Vietnam.
November 12 Unusual early snowfall of 13” closed the college.
November 14 Art Buchwald, comedian, addressed 1,500 at convocation.
November 20 Students began a movement for dormitories on campus.
November 21 Leader article detailed a SUNY policy which made dormitories impossible for the college.
November 22 Wrestling Captains announced: Pat Harder, Dave Phillips and Dave Quattrone.
December 7 Chemung Valley Area Study of Higher Education recommended that CCC become a four-year institution and that a new two-year community college be created and located between Elmira and Corning.
