Corning Community College stands as a testimony to our region's ability to take a great vision through to completion.  Founded in 1956 by the Corning-Painted Post School District, CCC began modestly in a scattering of old buildings in the city of Corning.

Today, we encompass a 550-acre main campus on Spencer Hill with a complex of eight buildings plus an observatory and planetarium.  We've also expanded our vision to provide services at a variety of off-campus sites throughout Steuben, Chemung and Schuyler counties.  We are truly a community college, and proud of it.

CCC is a member of the State University of New York (SUNY), and is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and the National League for Nursing.

The College community has enhanced its efforts to adopt energy efficient, environmentally sustainable practices.  The Green Campus Task Force, a group of employees and students, formed in fall 2004, have been active in helping develop ways for CCC to become greener.  The Task Force works with all areas of the College to research and adopt state-of-the-art conservation practices. Recycling and energy conservation have been major initiatives in 2005 and 2006.  Educating everyone in the College community in ways that each can participate in these sustainable actions is a major thrust for the group.   We partner with Student Government, Phi Theta Kappa and Student Activities on a number of activities.  CCC looks forward to being a leader in energy efficient practices for the entire region.

Corning Community College offers an extensive yet affordable range of educational, cultural, and social opportunities to a diverse population of full-time and part-time learners.  We focus on student achievement by stressing quality teaching and personal attention.  Our emphasis on high standards of quality and technological advancement provides a flexible learning environment in which students are prepared for a life of service to their professions and their communities in a globally interdependent society.  We promote intellectual and personal growth, meet the educational needs of the community through transfer, career, certificate, and training programs, and enhance economic development.
