NURSE AIDE/HOME HEALTH AIDE/PERSONAL CARE AIDE INSTRUCTORS

Part-time instructors are needed to teach Nurse Aide/Home Health Aide and Personal Care Aide courses.  Requirements include: associates degree in nursing (bachelors preferred); prior experience teaching NA classes or possession of a Train the Trainer certificate; and long term care or home health care work experience.

CHILD CARE INSTRUCTOR

This part-time position will assist Head Child Care Instructors with the supervision of morning child care workers and the planning and implementation of curriculum at the CCC Child Care Center.  This position will also oversee the work of afternoon child care workers. 

The successful candidate will have the ability to supervise others and work cooperatively in a team environment; knowledge of childhood developmental stages; excellent interpersonal skills; and physical condition commensurate with demands of position.   Minimum qualifications include: Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or Associate’s Degree in early childhood, child development or a related field and one year of teaching experience in a in a child care center, family or group family day care home, or other early childhood program.

This position is 30 hours per week /15 weeks per semester with a starting salary of $8.50 per hour.

CAREER SPECIALIST

This grant-funded position assists economically disadvantaged individuals in the Bridge College-to-Work Program at the Elmira Academic and Workforce Development Center with job search activities, short-term training options and job placement services.   Responsibilities include: assisting with eligibility determinations and verifications; providing case management; and assisting clients with the development and implementation of written plans to reach their employment and educational goals.  The successful candidate will be a self-starter who has strong decision-making and problem-solving skills and is able to work independently.  Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, career counseling, or related field (master’s degree preferred) AND two or more years of experience working with economically disadvantaged individuals, including job development, employment placement, case management, and job coaching.

This position will assist with the daily operations of the College Stores and the Planetarium.  Responsibilities include: web page maintenance and oversight of online order process; assisting with development and implementation of Planetarium shows; working with vendors; reconciliation of accounts payable.  Requirements include: good organizational and interpersonal communication skills;   knowledge of MS FrontPage, MS Office, and MS Picture Management or compatible software; and two years of retail or marketing experience.  Web page management experience and associates degree in accounting, business administration, marketing, or a related field preferred.

Responsible for the analysis, design, and maintenance of college-wide information technology.   The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be knowledgeable about current technology, such as Active Directory, Windows Server, Windows Scripting Host, and PERL.  .  Preferred skills include experience with: Linux and Solaris operating systems; XHTML, CSS, PHP, and SOL; VMWare, Veritas NetBackup, Visio, DNS, DHCP; Luminis, Banner, WebCT.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field and one year of experience OR an associates degree in a computer-related field and three years of experience.  MCSE, MCSA, MCP, or related certification a plus.

INSTRUCTOR/ASST. PROFESSOR OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE

This is a full-time position for the spring 2010 semester, with the possibility of renewal.  Responsibilities include student advisement and teaching a variety of CJ courses, including criminal investigation, police operations/administration, criminalistics, etc.  Please Note: No Section 211 waiver is available for this position.

Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or a related field (master’s degree preferred) and NYS BMP Police Instructor certification required.  Five years of command experience in a NYS police agency and prior teaching experience preferred.
