Alexandra “Ali” Williams ’11 is certainly one to watch. After graduating from CCC, she pursued her bachelor’s degree at SUNY-ESF, where she studied Environmental Resources Engineering. Ali was hired by Hunt Engineers, Architects and Land Surveyors immediately upon graduation and is working locally as a Junior Civil Engineer.
Ali earned multiple degrees from CCC. She is remembered fondly by Associate Professor Jay Hurlburt as a student with great intellect and high standards: “Ali was prompt, attentive to detail, and thorough as a student.”
Ali has continued to grow her reputation through an impeccable track record of excellence in her field work. Her work with HUNT has included water distribution and supply systems, storm and waste water collection systems, and project applications with NYSDOH and NYSDEC. This kind of work can be tedious for even the most seasoned professional. Applications are often returned for revisions by the District with recommendations for changes. Not so for Ali however: her initial application was accepted without a single revision.
This will not likely be the last CCC hears from Ali. She is currently in training to become a Town Engineer for a local municipality and will assume that role in January 2017, conducting engineering reviews of site plans submitted to the board. As a graduate of an accredited engineering program (at SUNY-ESF), she is on track to acquire her Professional Engineering license. She successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam in April 2014, earning the title Engineer-in-Training and hopes to eventually be a Project Manager at HUNT.
