A holistic study of human variation and adaptation over time in a wide range of societies from nonliterate, nonindustrial communities, and modern non-Western cultures and indigenous peoples of the Americas. Focus includes kinship systems, economic arrangements, social control, religion and art. (3 cr. hrs.) (Fall, Spring).
Prerequisite: Eligible to enroll in ENGL1010 and completion of all reading placements. Upper-level course. Writing in content area.
Meets SUNY General Education requirement in Other World Civilization.
Recommended for second-year students.
