Review of math, metric, terms, and concepts used in chemistry. Emphasis on atomic theory, types of chemical bonds, energy relationships, solutions, acids, and chemical reactions. Includes an introduction to organic chemistry and useful Internet sites. (1cr. hr.) (Fall, Spring, Summer) Required for students who have exceeded the shelf-life of their high school chemistry grade prerequisite for entrance into the nursing program. Not for students without a prior chemistry course. Does not satisfy lab science requirements or high school chemistry prerequisite for CHEM 1510 or higher. Students may take this course only once. A nursing student who does not achieve a B grade the first time must then take a full semester chemistry course.
Prerequisite: eligible to take ENGL 1010, satisfactory completion of all reading skills placements.
