Dr. Matthew Skerritt

Dr. Matthew Skerritt completed his BS in Biochemistry from the State University of New York, College at Geneseo, and his MA in Biochemistry, Cell, and Molecular Biology from Binghamton University. He then obtained his PhD in Biophysics from the University at Buffalo, specializing in cardiac electrophysiology. Dr. Skerritt conducted postdoctoral training in the Department of Public Health Sciences at the University of Rochester, focused on cardiovascular disease prevention. He also completed a US Fulbright Scholar award to the United Arab Emirates to investigate, in collaboration with colleagues at the UAE University, cardiovascular disease prevention strategies in Abu Dhabi. 

Dr. Skerritt teaches courses in Anatomy and Physiology, Cell Biology, and Genetics and maintains an active research program in genomics.

Dr. Skerritt is Head Coach of the SUNY Corning Community College Men's Cross Country team and is faculty advisor for the Beta Beta Zeta chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
