Marc Brown is a graduating student in the Corning Community College Class of 2018. The Red Baron served 8 years in the U.S. Army before he chose to study information technology and get involved with the Veteran’s Association on campus.
“I chose CCC because it was a great opportunity for me, and it is a good start before transferring to another college,” Marc said, noting that he took advantage of the GI Bill benefit program.
Outside of classes, Marc enjoyed playing video games, volunteering for homeless veterans and for the VFW, spending time in the campus’s Veteran’s Lounge, and running.
“I only run from time to time,” Marc said, laughing.
Marc considers the students and faculty his favorite part of attending Corning.
“The students and faculty are just so helpful and friendly,” he said. “I like everyone here.”
As Marc transitions into a CCC alumn, he doesn't intend for his education to halt. He plans on enrolling in Alfred State College's online technology management program, which would provide him with a Bachelor's degree. Meanwhile, mark has been offered a position at Corning Incorporated, working with Information Technology Desktop Support.
"I'm excited that I've been offered a career right after my time at CCC. I plan on accepting the position with Corning Incorporated and earning my Bachelor's degree at Alfred at the same time," Marc happily shared.
