"If you'll pardon an old cliché, "by your pupils you are taught." Over the years, Higgins' students at CCC have proven to be endlessly creative, and virtually all of his best projects and assignments are derived from their suggestions."

David Higgins is a practicing artist, and has had his work exhibited all over the country. His work was also exhibited internationally, specifically Germany. Higgins specializes in moody oil landscapes, but he is also proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
David Higgins is a three-time Best in Show winner in the Arnot Art Museum Regional Exhibition (and is also a three-time second-place winner in the same exhibition). He is also a three-time Best in Show winner of the Susquehanna Regional Art Exhibition at the Roberson Museum in Binghamton. The highlight of his career (so far) was when he was one of only six artists (and the only oil painter) chosen to participate in the 2012 Biennial Exhibition at the Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester. Higgins had his own room in the museum (one floor below Rembrandt!). A total of 7,000 visitors saw his work.
