Electrical Technology – Electronics, A.A.S.

Direct-to-Career Program

Their studies qualify them to work in exciting fields, such as electronic design, utility section operator, process technician, communications, systems control, and technical sales and service. 

The program stresses electronic analysis and design using digital and analog electronics, instrumentation, simulation, and programming. Laboratory experience is a part of each course in this program. Graduates with an A.A.S. degree will be ready to join the workforce where there are excellent paying technician jobs are available.

For students who decide to go on for further education after the A.A.S. degree, many four-year colleges now offer bachelor degree programs in technology and technical education, specifically designed for graduates in electrical technology.

Applied Electronics for
Manufacturing Assemblers
(8 credits)

  • Understand and apply core electrical principles, including electrical quantities, measurement, DC and AC circuits, magnetism, and electrical power
  • Use basic electrical and mechanical equipment and instrumentation safely and effectively
  • Apply foundational knowledge of electrical measurement and basic instrumentation
  • Design and construct a CAD‑generated circuit board
  • Demonstrate hands‑on skills such as breadboarding, soldering, crimping, heat shrinking, wiring, and mounting components
  • Install and connect jacks, controls, and switches as part of a functional electrical system
