Celebrating Women in STEM

To highlight Women In STEM, the SUNY CCC Diversity Center has invited a few women leaders in STEM to share their inspirations, journey, achievements, and how to improve gender equity challenges in organizations.

Joining us on Wednesday, March 24 from 3pm - 4:30pm, will be Janelle Wellons, Instrument Operations Engineer, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory; Yvonne Burton, Research Technician and Ashley Lomboy, Division Information Security Manager, Optical Fiber & Cables, Corning Incorporated.

Joining us on day 2, Thursday, March 25 from 6pm - 7:30pm, will be Dr. Christa Heyward, PhD. Immunologist, Cell Biologist; Indrani Bhattacharyya, Sr. Research Scientist, Thin Films and Surfaces, and Ruchi Tandon, Chemist and University Collaborations Manager, Corning Incorporated.

There will be 3 breakouts on each day then a short panel discussion led by Madison Cunningham, SUNY CCC student. The breakouts will allow for the speakers to tell their story then the panel discussion for Q&A.

Leadership Workshop

Building Your Leadership Legacy Workshop and Panel

From 6pm - 7pm., the workshop will be led by Beta Mannix, Associate Dean for Executive Programs and Ann Whitney Olin Professor of Management, Cornell SC Johnson School of Business. Download the event workbook. The workbook will be needed during the workshop.

from 7pm - 7:30/45pm, following the workshop there will be a short women in business panel discussion with Pam Burns, HR Manager, Chemung Canal; Tiffany Ely, Owner/Operator, Palace Theatre; Anita Lewis, Chief Development Officer, EOP; Stephanie Risley, Treasurer, Zeiser Wilbert Vault Inc; moderated by Jennifer O'Hara, SUNY CCC Professor.
