#CheckUsOut Student Activity Fair 8/27 

Student Life is hosting an Activity Fair in the Commons, mid day on Thursday, August 27th. Come find the Health Office table, spin the wheel to learn a life saving skill, and get goodies! A few lucky students will choose from our prize basket with axolotl stuffies, gift cards, and CCC socks.

Red Cross x Red Barons Blood Drive, Tuesday 9/8

Our first blood drive for this academic year will be Tuesday, 9/8/26, from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm in the Triangle Lounge. Register to donate blood here.Walk-ins are welcome, appointments are appreciated. We will also have Blood Drives in November, February and April.

COVID, Flu & Other Viral Illnesses

  • If you have flu-like symptoms and/or a fever, please stay home until you are feeling better. Email your professors promptly about any missed classes. 
  • COVID vaccines are not required at CCC; SUNY recommends them

Naloxone Available on Campus

Have you noticed the red naloxone or Narcan dispensers around campus?  They are near the AEDs, and there is one located in every campus building, including the Elmira Center and ACP.   Naloxone is a medication that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose, and it is easy to use.   Do you know how to use naloxone to help someone who may have overdosed on an opioid?  Do you know the signs of an opioid overdose?  Be prepared to save a life.  Watch the video here to learn how, and see the AHA: Using Naloxone Algorithm for a quick reference guide.   Please call the Health Office at 607-962-9257 if you would like in person training.  Campus Locations of Naloxone Dispensers

In the event of a medical emergency always call 911.  The 911 dispatcher will notify Public Safety (607-962-9000) of the emergency. 

Wellness Wednesdays

When classes are in session, stop by the Kelly Lounge on Wednesdays around lunchtime to see the nurse, find out about upcoming events, and learn about relevant health topics. She usually has snacks on the table. Let us know if there's a topic that you think we should cover.  

CPR Training

We offer several American Heart Association CPR classes. Email the Health Office for more info.

Wellness Room

Are you anxious or stressed and need a place to relax? Come relax in the massage chair/recliner. Let us make you a cup of tea while you use the room to unwind.  The Health Office and this room are located on the lower level of the Commons Building in the same hallway as Public Safety.  The room is available on a first come, first served basis, or call us at 607-962-9257 to reserve a spot.

SUNY Student Tele-Psychiatry Network provides remote psychiatry services.  Contact the Health Office to sign up.
