Student Spotlight: Taylor Tremba

Meet Taylor Tremba, a second-year Liberal Arts major who found her way to Corning Community College after starting her academic journey at Wichita State University.

She is an active member of Phi Theta Kappa, Muse of Fire, and The Crier. She also holds an unusual connection to the Math Club. Though not an official member, Taylor jokes that she’s an “honorary” one—mostly because she’s been known to steal their snacks. “My friends have been tempting me with origami ever since,” she laughs.

One of her proudest accomplishments is a 10,000-word feature article she wrote for Professor Draper-Reich’s Writing in Media class. “The piece explored my messy trajectory as an amateur writer, and using my craft to tell that story was immensely cathartic. The day I got my grade back, I jumped from my desk, put on my Skullcandies, and danced,” Taylor recalls.

Her favorite place on campus is the Learning Center, where spontaneous conversations spark over shared references. “You can walk into the Learning Center, make a vague reference to a show, book, movie, anime, Vine, or game, and there's a high chance some other tutor will get it,” she says. “There’s something beautiful about that.”
