Dr. Marchese joined the College in 2021 as the Executive Director of the Development Foundation. In this role, he serves as chief advancement officer for Corning Community College, overseeing a team that manages fund development, endowment management, alumni relations, and financial oversight for the residence hall. Additional duties include oversight of Grants Management at the College.

Prior to joining the SUNY Corning team, John has experience in industry, the nonprofit sector, and higher education. He holds a Ph.D. in Literature from the University of Notre Dame as well as a Master of Arts degree in Romance Languages from Notre Dame and a Master of Arts in Philosophy from Loyola University Chicago, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia.
