Dr. Tony Wohlers joined SUNY Corning Community College as the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty in January 2025. In this role, he oversees the college’s academic programs, workforce training and community engagement initiatives, and institutional partnerships to empower students and elevate the community.

With over 20 years of experience in higher education, Dr. Wohlers has a proven track record of academic leadership, grant acquisition, program development, and scholarship. Prior to joining SUNY CCC, he served as Dean of Behavioral and Social Sciences at Harford Community College in Maryland, where he led credit and workforce-related interdisciplinary programs, external partnerships, grants, and high-impact practice initiatives.

He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Northern Illinois University, an M.A. in Political Science from the University of Illinois, and bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and History from Sonoma State University and the University of the Saarland, Germany.
