Become a Paramedic and Help Save Lives

The Arnot Ogden Medical Center, 600 Roe Avenue, Elmira, NY 14905, and SUNY Corning Community College partner to provide the Paramedic, EMT AAS Program, which prepares students to provide advanced emergency medical care in prehospital and healthcare settings. Combining classroom instruction, simulation labs, and field internships, students gain the knowledge, skills, and clinical judgment needed to succeed as entry-level paramedics.  SUNY CCC is the degree-granting institution.

Arnot Ogden Medical Center. the affiliated clinical and instructional provider, provides the following courses: Paramedic I, Paramedic II, and an Internship. The Arnot Ogden Medical Center is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).  This accreditation ensures the program meets nationally recognized standards for paramedic education and prepares graduates for professional cerfication and practice.

  • Simulation labs: hands-on practice of critical paramedic skills
  • Regional EMS agencies and ambulance services: advanced field internships

Field internships allow students to apply classroom knowledge under supervision, build confidence, and develop leadership in real emergencies.

Career Outlook

Paramedics are highly trained healthcare professionals who provide life-saving care during emergencies. Graduates are prepared to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Paramedic certification exam and pursue careers in:

This program is eligible for SUNY Reconnect funding effective Fall 2026 which supports adult learners returning to college for high-demand careers. Eligible students may receive financial support, academic guidance, and career advising while completing the program and transitioning into the EMS workforce.
