2+2 TRANSFER PROGRAMS
(PHARMACY PARTNERSHIP)

SUNY Corning Community College and St. John Fisher College (Rochester, NY) have an agreement in place that establishes a 2+2 transfer opportunities. Students selected for matriculation in this program will, upon completion of a prescribed sequence of courses leading to an associate degree from SUNY Corning Community College, continue their studies at St. John Fisher College with assurance that they may complete the 60 semester credit hours in conformity with the academic standards of St. John Fisher College and as prescribed in the appropriate Advising Guides (certain majors may require the completion of more than two-years of full-time study).

STUDENT SELECTION
SUNY Coming Community College will be responsible for the selection of candidates for admission to the 2+2 Partnership Program. In general, applicants will be expected to present strong records of academic achievement including four years of English, three years of social studies, and mathematics, and at least two years of study in science. In addition, SUNY Coming Community College will designate appropriate prerequisites for matriculation in any of the curricula included in the 2+2 program.

GPA REQUIREMENTS
A student graduating with an associate degree from SUNY Coming Community College will not be expected to meet St. John Fisher College higher GPA standards than a St. John Fisher College student entering the junior year. St. John Fisher College policies and procedures as to academic standing, however, shall apply.

Students interested in all majors included in the 2+2 program must present a minimum GPA of 2.0. Some degree programs may require higher GPA's and/or pre-requisite coursework to continue at St. John Fisher College. Please refer to appropriate Advising Guides - THESE GUIDES WILL BE AVAILABLE IN THE NEAR FUTURE ON ST. JOHN FISHER COLLEGE'S WEBSITE.

In the case of other baccalaureate programs which are not covered by the 2+2 agreement, or in the case when a student changes from his/her originally intended 2+2 major, SUNY Corning Community College students shall follow normal procedures for transfer admission. Students will be subject to the same requirements for these programs as other students applying, including those having completed lower-division work at St. John Fisher College.

STUDENT ACADEMIC ADVISEMENT
SUNY Corning Community College advisors are available to assist students enrolled in a St. John Fisher College 2+2 program select the appropriate classes. St. John Fisher College offers special orientation/advisement sessions for 2+2 students at SUNY CCC. Check with the Educational Planning Center or contactSt. John Fisher College Office of Transfer Admissions for scheduled advisement sessions.

ARTICULATION PROCEDURES

  • Participants are required to submit a separate SJFC Transfer Application the semester before intended enrollment at St. John Fisher College. 
  • There is no application fee required for consideration into St. John Fisher College.
  • Students who wish to change their majors upon enrolling at St. John Fisher College will be permitted to do so and may still be able to earn their baccalaureate degrees with the completion of 60 additional credit hours. In cases such as majors in disciplines which are sequential, or which require a large number of sequence courses and professional programs which are highly structured, pursuit of a different baccalaureate degree at St. John Fisher College may require the completion of more than 60 credit hours.


ST. JOHN FISHER COLLEGE WEGMANS SCHOOL OF PHARMACY

St. John Fisher College extends an opportunity to SUNY Corning Community College to offer early assurance to the Wegmans School of Pharmacy professional program to qualified candidates. 

St. John Fisher College agrees to offer admission to 2 eligible candidates from SUNY Corning Community College per academic year.

SUNY Corning Community College agrees to identify 2 candidates per criteria listed below and provide a candidate listing to St. John Fisher College Office of Admissions at the beginning of the fall semester each academic year.

CRITERIA
Candidates are selected at the discretion of SUNY Corning Community College, and must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Achieve high school grade point average of at least 90
  • Achieve SAT score of 1200 (math and critical reading combined) or ACT composite score of 26
  • Eligible students will receive an interview invitation with the Wegmans School of Pharmacy.

Students in the Pharmacy Early Assurance Partnership Program will be eligible to matriculate into the Doctor of Pharmacy program upon the following:

  • Successfully complete required prerequisite credits of pre-professional education. Minimum grades noted in the agreement are required for acceptance for all prerequisites. AP credit will only be allowed for fulfillment of non-science prerequisite courses. Students should follow Advising Guides to ensure completion of required coursework.
  • Submit an online application to PharmCAS (Pharmacy College Application Service) no later than March 1 of the year that the student plans to enroll in the Wegmans School of Pharmacy.
  • Achieve minimum cumulative and science-only grade point averages of 3.2.
  • Achieve minimum composite score of 50 on the PCAT (Pharmacy College Admission Test) taken on or before the January test date.

Students in the Pharmacy Early Assurance Partnership Program who do not meet the above criteria are still eligible to apply for admission to the WSoP through PhannCAS provided they complete the prerequisite courses, achieve minimum cumulative and science-only grade point averages of 2.75, complete the PCAT on or before the January test date, and submit all required application materials to PharmCAS by March 1 of the intended year of entry.
