EOP Application Process & Requirements

The State University of New York's Arthur O. Eve Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) provides access, academic support, and financial aid to students who show promise of succeeding in college but may not have the resources needed to do so. Available primarily to first-time, full-time, matriculated students and qualifying transfers, the program supports students throughout their college careers within the SUNY system. 

This APPLYSUNY application is the first step in the EOP Application Process. 

HOW TO APPLY
1.  Make sure you meet the eligibility criteria.

2.  Apply through the SUNY App and CHECK THE BOX

3.  After you complete your SUNY App, submit your financial documents to the SUNY App Portal.

4.  Got accepted? Congrats! Be sure to formally accept your offer to reserve your space.
EOP deposits are typically low-cost or free of charge

  2. Complete the FAFSA and Tap Applications
    • Applicants are encouraged to use the IRS Retrieval process when completing the FAFSA application for Pell and TAP and request a Tax Transcript from the IRS for students and parents at that time. Request a Tax Transcript here
  3. EOP Academic Verification here
  4. Have your high school and/or college transcripts sent to admissions@corning-cc.edu
  5. After you complete your SUNY App, submit your financial documents to the SUNY App Portal.
  6. Once verified for both financial and academic eligibility, you will receive a letter inviting you to join us for the EOP Pre-freshmen Program. 
  • Meet the New York State residency requirement (12 months)
  • Be a first semester, college freshman or qualifying transfer student
  • Have earned a High School Diploma or GED
  • Attained a high school average in the range of 70-85% or 1.7 GPA
  • Meet SUNY EOP Economic Eligibility Guidelines 
  • Demonstrate potential and motivation to complete a college program
  • Participate in and successfully complete the EOP Pre-freshmen Program; offered in Winter '23 and Summer '24.

You are eligible for EOP as a transfer student, provided you have been enrolled in EOP, College Discovery, HEOP (Higher Education Opportunity Program), SEEK (Search for Education, Elevation and Knowledge), or a similar academic and financial support program at your previous college. If your previous college did not have EOP or a similar program, you may be considered for transfer eligibility.
