Intro to Lean & Value Stream Mapping
Intro To Lean & Value Stream Mapping Combo Training
This special and unique combination training of Lean Thinking and Value Stream Mapping
(VSM), enables participants to identify, and eliminate waste, improve workflow and
quality, and develop a clear, visual roadmap of their operations to drive continuous
improvement in their workplace.
Lean Thinking and Value Stream Mapping
Lean Thinking is a management philosophy that focuses on creating value with fewer resources and less waste. The goal of Lean Thinking is to engage the entire organization in identifying and eliminating waste, thus improving the flow, productivity, and quality of work. Participants will gain an understanding of the concepts of Lean Thinking, the philosophy behind it, and the tools associated with it.
Value Stream Mapping captures and documents processes, including material and informational flows. Wherever there is a product for a customer, there is a value stream. The challenge lies in seeing it. This course teaches participants how to see their value streams from a waste and flow perspective, leading to out-of-the box thinking and breakthrough improvement. By the end of the training, participants will know how to define a product or service value stream, construct both current and future state maps, and apply these skills through hands-on practice by mapping a fictitious company’s processes.
