Lost and Found

If you have lost an item you may check with the Office of Public Safety by calling 607-962-9000. Public Safety is located in the lower level of the Commons and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

For items lost at the Academic and Workforce Development Center (Elmira Center), contact the Office of Public Safety at 607-936-5512.

We make every effort to identify the owner of the found property and to see that the property is returned. 

Found property will be held as follows:

• Valued at $100 or less - three months
• Valued at more than $100 but less than $500 - six months
• Valued more than $500 but less than $5000 - one year
• Valued over $5000 - three years

Pursuant to New York State Personal Property Law, employees of the State or a public corporation may not assert a claim to found property.
