Silent Witness and Students of Concern Reporting
Silent Witness
The Silent Witness program is a way to anonymously provide the Office of Public Safety with information regarding suspicious or criminal activity that has occurred either on- or off-campus. Please DO NOT use Silent Witness to report emergencies or crimes in-progress. These types of incidents should be reported to Public Safety by calling 607-962-9000 or 911.
Submit a silent witness report here.
Students of Concern
Students of Concern reporting will address non-emergency student behaviors that are disruptive or outside the norm for a particular student. The goal is to be preventive in nature and promote the safety and well-being of our entire campus.
Report student concerns or threats that are troubling but do not require an immediate response to the Behavioral Intervention Team. What to report:
-
Evidence of suicidal thoughts expressed through writings, papers, or conversation
-
Angry outbursts or intense and abnormal reactions to events
-
Preoccupation with violent themes, death, or destruction
-
Stalking behaviors
-
Evidence of hopelessness or despair
-
Threats or inappropriate emails, blogs, or social media postings
-
References to harming others or planning a violent event
For Immediate Danger: Call 911, the Public Safety Office at 607-962-9000, or use the emergency red phones when available. Acts or immediate threats of violence must be reported immediately.
